Fresh from my last Lego news post I’m back with more! You may have seen the amazing submission via the Lego Ideas scheme for a Doctor Who Lego set made by user AndrewClark2, and you may well be aware it got approved for production but what I bet you don’t know is that it’s available visible right now on the Lego store!
Yes, just click this link to go straight to the store where you can see all the info and place your order now. Slated for release on December 1st this set would make a perfect Christmas gift for any Whovian and is modestly priced at £49.99. It’s not the cheapest Ideas set, but I definitely think it’s good value for what you get.
Below is a pic taken straight from the Lego site, along with the set description so you can get a better idea of what’s on offer in the set, suffice to say it looks pretty awesome. My only disappointment is that the original submission included minifigs of the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) and Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and while this new set (21304) includes both the 11th and 12th Doctor I’d still have preferred to see number 10, but I guess that’s a generational thing.
Construct a stunningly detailed LEGO® version of the iconic TARDIS® and role-play the Doctor’s time-travel adventures! Created by fan-designer Andrew Clark and selected by LEGO Ideas members, this set is based on the BBC’s popular and long-running television series about a Time Lord – the Doctor – exploring the universe in a blue police box. Due to trans-dimensional engineering, the TARDIS is bigger on the inside than the outside and this cool multifunctional set includes the console room that houses all the flight controls. Regenerate the Doctor and defeat the evil Daleks™ and a Weeping Angel with the help of his extraordinary companion Clara. Then close the doors of the TARDIS and launch into another dimension! Includes 4 minifigures with assorted accessory elements: the Eleventh Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor, Clara Oswald and a Weeping Angel, plus 2 Daleks™.

It’s worth noting that the links and release date are relative to the GB/UK Lego Store and other countries might not see the set on their site just yet, but I’m sure it won’t be long. Check your relevant site soon and I’m sure you’ll catch it.
Incidentally, I wonder if this set will follow the same pattern as the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Ideas set (21108), in that it’ll sell out immediately, be out of stock for close to 9 months and then come back in stock again? Who knows (haha), but one thing’s for certain, if you want one I’d definitely order
Other than that, that’s it for now! If you liked this follow the blog for more, like this post or leave a comment down below and let me know what you think. Will you be getting this set? Are you disappointed at the lack of a 10th Doctor? Whatever your opinion I’m sure you can’t argue with the coolness of this set! Thanks for looking and check back fo more soon!
Edit: having looked closer at the Lego site, I’ve realised that you can’t actually order the set just yet and I’ve adjusted my post to reflect this. As soon as it’s available for order I’ll let you know, but until then sit tight, I’m sure this will be a popular set but it’s pretty cool to have a fairly solid release date (UK) as well as pricing info and good, hi-res images. Anyway, that’s all, keep your eye one that spyglass for more, I’ll be seeing ya soon, matey!
